Happy Birthday Scorpio! Well, it’s that time again. Halloween and Scorpio birthdays! Scorpio is one of those signs that always gets a bad rap, or at least a provocative one. One the one hand, people are always quipping about how controlling and intense they are, which is somewhat deserved. And if they aren’t talking about that, it’s about how sexual they are. This is also somewhat deserved. So let’s take a look at some aspects of Scorpio for and see what else they have up their sleeves.
Scorpio is a Fixed Sign, like Taurus, Leo, and Aquarius, which means they are strong and steady and only change when they feel like it. Scorpios often have great staying power and deep resources. They can go for the long haul. Sometimes this trait makes it hard for these powerful souls to let go of anything, which can cause lots of brooding and ruminating.
Scorpio is also a Water Sign, like Cancer and Pisces. Water rules emotion and Scorpios emotions run deep and wide. They don’t like showing how emotional and vulnerable they really are, so they sometimes adopt a rather tough, or stoic exterior to hide their deep sensitivity. If they love you, it’s all encompassing. They can be extremely loyal. If they hate you, watch out. They have a long memory for past sins and have a reputation of being powerful adversaries. Scorpios are stealthy and will wait for the right moment to pounce, when you least expect it. Then they’ll hit you with everything they’ve got. Note to self: be really nice to all my Scorpio friends.
Scorpios are powerful people. When they are balanced, they can move mountains, when they are out of touch with themselves, they can become addicted to crisis, conflict, and drama. They need goals to channel their energies towards. They are also very relationship oriented and want a partner that can handle their depth.
Yes, they can be sneaky and manipulative if they are not in balance with themselves. And the Sex Thing? Well, Scorpio is associated with the 8th house and the planets Pluto and Mars, which all suggest a heighten desire nature, with lots of intense emotions. Astrologers debate whether or not the 8th house really has to do with sex, but the body part Scorpio rules is the genital area, so I guess we can assume something from that. Julia Roberts, Meg Ryan, and Goldie Hawn are Scorpios and all of these gals seem to have more than their fair share of sex appeal.
Scorpios are great detectives, mortgage brokers, estate planners, physicians, and they are often drawn to politics. Maria Schriver, Hillary Clinton, and Laura Bush are all Scorpio Suns. Interestingly enough, Bill and Hillary are a Leo/Scorpio duo, and Arnold and Maria are also a Leo/ Scorpio pair. This is not considered the easiest pairing for compatibility, but apparently it works well for achieving big goals.
