Virgo is the 7th sign of the zodiac, beginning around the 22nd of August through the 22nd of September. If your birthday falls right at the edge of the starting or ending point you need to check with an astrologer to see what you really are, as it varies a little year to year.
Virgo is an Earth Sign, along with Taurus and Capricorn. Earth Signs are considered to be physical, sensual, practical, industrious, rational, goal oriented, and down to earth. Virgo is ruled by the planet Mercury, which is the god of the intellect; therefore Virgos are a bit more like Air Signs in that they are very mentally driven. Gemini is also ruled by Mercury. Virgos, like Geminis, are always thinking and analyzing. Both Virgo and Gemini are considered youthful or Mercurial signs, and needless to say, they tend to be young at heart and in body.
