Time for another bird’s-eye-view of life here on planet earth. How has this November been for you? If it’s been a bit intense, it could be that you are picking up on the energy of the Lunar and Solar eclipses that dominate the astrological landscape this month. The Lunar Eclipse occurred on November 8, 2003 at 5:14pm PST. The Solar Eclipse will occur on November 23, 2003 at 2:59pm. As I am writing this update, we are getting very close to the Solar Eclipse.
Eclipses, both Lunar and Solar, are power triggers. They tend to stir up energy that has been lying just beneath the surface of our lives and push it right out in the open. A Lunar Eclipse is a Full Moon with teeth. It will push things to culmination, bring things to a boil, bring things to fruition, and exaggerate the emotional content of any situation. The Eclipse on November 8th was a Full Moon in Taurus. The Scorpio Sun opposing the Taurus Moon brought up issues pertaining to power, values, stubbornness, possessiveness, control, death, endings, secrets, physical issues, money, and sex. A big part of the Taurus/Scorpio axis has to do with how people share resources: what’s mine, what’s yours, and what’s ours. If there were problems brewing having to do with issues of entitlement, ownership, payment, or profit sharing, they would have been brought to light quite strongly. If you had a birthday right around the 8th of November, the eclipse affected your chart strongly and this will be a banner year for powerful changes in your life.
The Lunar Eclipse on November 8th was interesting for another reason as well. The planets formed an rare and unusual configuration that day called a Grand Sextile. The Grand Sextile looks like a Star of David, the points of the Star being joined by connecting lines around the perimeter of the Star. This is what some astrologers dubbed “The Harmonic Concordance”. Many spiritual people felt this configuration was auspicious and foretold the entrance into a period of new spiritual awareness and revelation. Certainly, it would be a good idea to see what kind of insights or revelations occurred in your own life around the time of November 8th, as they might have a more profound significance than you think.
The Solar Eclipse on November 23rd, 2003 is a New Moon, which means that the Sun and Moon are lined up at the same place in early Sagittarius. This Solar Eclipse is accompanied by a planetary alignment in Sagittarius including the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Pluto, and Venus. It should prove to be a strong influence for anyone who has planets in the sign of Sagittarius. New Moons represent the ending of one cycle and the beginning of another. Sagittarius energy is about the higher mind, philosophy, spirituality, learning, growing, traveling, moving, and expansion. You may need to look at the “big picture” of your life now, tying up loose ends and charting a new course for the months to come. Perhaps it’s time to check in with yourself to see if you are living your truth, thinking outside the box, and moving towards growth. The Solar Eclipse could help you to see which areas of your life have become stagnate. Are you going in circles or actually moving ahead? If your birthday is near the 23rd of November; take note. This will be a significant year of endings and new beginnings for you.
Here’s a point to ponder when looking at the influence of eclipses or any other astrological factors. Ultimately, whatever the planets are doing, it’s up to you to decide how you will respond. They are just planets. They have no agenda. It’s all energy and energy does not care what happens. It just is. We can’t resist the flow of energy and it does influence and shape us. But we also shape energy. We do this with our will and creativity. Use the energy wisely. Come from your center. Create from you truth. Then, you are co-creating with the Universe and the planetary energy. You are a partner in the cosmic dance, not just a leaf blowing in the wind.
