What’s going on with that Recall Election, astrologically speaking, that is? Well, it’s really quite interesting. Gray Davis is a Capricorn. Capricorns often end up in positions of power. They are goal oriented Earth Signs that thrive on being in charge and going after their own goals. They actually make great leaders, but when they go astray they can be self-serving and sometimes will step on the needs of others to promote their own agendas. Capricorns are not known for having out-going, people pleasing personalities. They are quiet, determined, and interested in power. Their more introverted nature often puts some people off. Davis’s Capricorn personality isn’t exactly winning him points in the popularity poles at present. Richard Nixon was also a Capricorn.
Coincidentally, Cruz Bustamante is also a Capricorn. In the debate the other night it was apparent that he does not have the type of winning personality that gets people to notice him. On the other side of the spectrum, Tom McClintock is a Cancer. Cancer and Capricorn are exactly opposite on another on the solar wheel. Cancer is also considered an introverted sign. Cancers are emotionally intense, protective, and sometimes have a rather parental attitude. Sometimes Cancers can seem whiney. Listen to Arianna much lately? Cancer, like Capricorn is a Cardinal Sign. Cardinal signs make good leaders because they know what they want to do and are capable of initiated decisions and getting things rolling. Arianna Huffington is also a Cancer. President Bush is also a Cancer.
So, in this battle between the Capricorns and the Cancers, where does Arnold Schwarznegger stand? He is a Leo! Leo’s are extroverts with lots of crowd appeal. They have strong, stubborn personalities and are natural leaders. Leos really do want to be King of the Hill and often make it to the top. They can be ruthless and ego-maniacal on a bad day. President Clinton is also a Leo, and he certainly knew how to wow a crowd. Another coincidence: Arnold is a Cancer Rising, so he does have something in common with his competition.
The Recall Election seems to be favoring Arnold at this point, mostly based on a popularity contest. And in a popularity contest between Capricorns, Cancers, and Leos, the Leos definitely have the edge. Arnold’s immense name recognition, fame, and popularity may be enough to get him elected. He was born during a Mars/Uranus transit, which is exactly what is going on in the heavens right now. This may give him a fateful edge.
This should be interesting, to say the least. The Moon will be in Pisces on October 7th, which will stir up the volatile Mars/Uranus conjunction early in the morning, which will make things wild and emotional. Now that Mercury is direct and is starting to get things clearer and more “normal” it should be a little easier to predict what will happen, but this is a volatile time and events could change quickly. At this point, I am going to stick my neck out and predict Arnold will be our new governor. Saturn in Cancer right now is creating stress and challenges for all of the top runners, but it is most noticeably difficult for Davis, Bustamante, and McClintock on Election Day.
What’s going on for the rest of us? As I mentioned, Mercury is direct now, which means as the days go by many situations will be resolving and getting clearer. Things that have kept you frustrated since August will suddenly seem to get better and you will be able to make better decisions now. Hooray for that! Virgo and Libra are highlighted with Jupiter and Mercury in Virgo and the Sun and Venus in Libra. This will help all of us get down to business and get organized with Virgo, and balance relationships and work creatively with Libra. Enjoy the Fall Cycle and get productive. Remember, Mars and Uranus are still conjunct, so expect the unexpected and be careful driving. This is an explosive combination. When Mars went direct the other day there was a huge earthquake in Japan. This Mars/Uranus is really something. Be aware.
